Mystic Maya is a German company based in Frankfurt am Main that has been offering handcrafted sterling silver jewelry from Taxco, Mexico, since 2004.

Our production is managed by Verónica Lara Castillo and Magda Marlit Lagunas, who work closely with local workshops. Taxco, a city known for its exceptional silver jewelry, is home to artisans whose skills have been honed over generations. The team
Veronica Lara Castillo was born and grew up in Mexico City. After several stays abroad in Australia and Canada, she returned in 1997.
Peer Schum spent two years in Mexico City after several stints abroad, where they met in 2002.
In 2004, she moved to Germany and founded Mystic Maya – with the aim of bringing the soul, colors and traditions of Mexico to Europe through handmade silver jewelry.
Since then, and with the support of Elke Rumpold in Frankfurt and Magda Lagunas in Taxco, Mexico, they have continued to develop Mystic Maya Silberschmuckmanufaktur. It is now called Mystic Maya by Verónica Lara – a company with hundreds of satisfied customers in Germany and Europe.

Our silversmiths
We rely on the skills of Mexican craftsmanship. Beautifully designed with great attention to detail, silver jewelry from Taxco has made a name for itself worldwide.
And whether it is the silversmiths continuing long family traditions or young freelance artists exploring new paths, they are all inspired by the rich Mexican culture, history and nature or they are guided by current and contemporary trends in jewelry development. This combination results in a wide range of products, from a classic, timeless collection to creatively developed pieces full of passion and strong character.
Most of our silversmiths work at home in small workshops, in the best sense of the word “home office”. Everyone has their own specialty – whether learned from the family or acquired in an apprenticeship – with casting (cera perdida), filing (calado), forging (martillado), etc.
The result is silver jewelry in various shapes and forms, including natural motifs or modern aesthetic and clear shapes: sweeping bracelets, long and elegant necklaces, eye-catching earrings and rings for everyday use.
